Stand-up comedian gets acting stint in 'Dyosa'

Comedian RubiRubi is very excited about her unique role in the fantasy series "Dyosa," ABS-CBN latest fantaserye.

The newbie actress didn't deny that she’s nervous--after all, this would only be her second time to act on television.

RubiRubi used to work in a comedy bar as a stand-up comedian. She said that she's very thankful to Director Wenn Deramas for giving her an opportunity to act in the month-long show "I am KC," her very first acting stint, and now in the series "Dyosa."

The comedienne will play an important role in the said show-- one that is far from her usual "comfort" zone which involves spontaneity.

RubiRubi said that she finds the experience of working with a script and a director very different from stand-up comedy work.

However, she admitted that she's beginning to love acting for the camera. “Kung papapiliin ako, mas gusto ko yung umaarte” she said.

RubiRubi is not at all affected if she's being compared with Pokwang. She said that each comedian has his or her own style of making people laugh.
